For New Zealand fans, the wait is over. This June is Business Time. Bret and Jemaine are going to Rock the Party. So leave your epilepticdogs at home cause there’ll be Too Many Dicks on a Dance Floor near you.
Co-promoter Stuart Clumpas said that, in an effort to avoid scalping, 300 tickets for each show would be available for people queuing at the box office and organisers were expecting a lot of people to line up.
“I think it’s going to be an extremely popular tour. I’m hoping people will camp out.
“Queuing up makes it something special, something exciting.”
With prices set at between $55 and $79 it is worth camping out, they will go fast!

Not since Gtaranaki’s Slash, Jennifer Batten (Jeff Beck, Michael Jackson,Natalie Cole) and Uli Jon Roth (Peter Gabriel, Tim Finn, Peter Frampton) have we had such legandary axe slayers under one roof!
The legendary G3 guitar gods – Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Steve Lukather – will bring their combined guitar pyrotechnics to New Zealand for the first time in March next year.
The two-and-a-half hour shows in Auckland and Wellington will feature individual sets by each guitarist with their own bands before joining Satriani and his band on stage for an all-star jam.
Since it began in 1996, versions of G3 have toured almost annually, selling out shows in the US, Europe, South America, Japan and Australia.
Founded by Satriani, who last performed in New Zealand at the G-TARanaki Festival in 2008, G3 has featured many celebrated guitarists including Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Yngwie Malmsteen, Robert Fripp, Adrian Legg and Eric Johnson.
Grammy award-winning Vai has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and has worked with legends such as Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake.
Founding member of Toto, Steve Lukather has a career spanning more than 35 years. As well as selling more than 30 million albums with the band, Lukather has played on more than 1500 other records, including Michael Jackson’s Thriller and albums by Miles Davis, Elton John and Alice Cooper.

Neil Diamond’s upcoming Wellington concert has been cancelled due to the lack of a suitable indoor venue, promoters say. [Rumor has it that it was actually due to poor sales.]
Diamond was to perform in Wellington on March 4.
A statement released by the event’s promoters cited “unforeseen production and logistical challenges associated with staging Neil Diamond’s full show outdoors” as the reason for the cancellation.
Online tickets will be automatically refunded. Tickets bought over the counter can be refunded at the point of purchase.
Diamond will still perform at Auckland’s Vector Arena on February 26 and 28. New allocations of tickets have been released for both shows.
What do you think is “unforeseen production and logistical blaa blaa outdoor blaa blaa…” a good reason to cancel a show that was always going to be outside?

Two of music’s biggest acts paid tribute to the Pike River miners at a sold out Mt Smart Stadium on Thursday night.
There was little doubt that a band with the social conscience of U2 would acknowledge the tragedy, even during the entertainment behemoth that is their 360 tour.
“People have ways of dealing with grief, in Ireland we sing,” said charismatic front man Bono before an emotional version of Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.
They followed that with local favourite One Tree Hill as the names of the 29 dead scrolled down the massive screen at Mt Smart Stadium on Thursday night.
Earlier, hiphop mogul Jay Z dedicated Forever Young to the miners as he said “they will always be in our hearts and they will always be forever young”.
Those were two moving moments in an otherwise upbeat night as U2 returned to New Zealand after an absence of exactly four years.

In a show of more than 20 songs there was a run through their catalogue of hits including Beautiful Day, Elevation, Vertigo, Sunday Bloody Sunday, One and With or Without You.
They were interspersed with new songs like Magnificent and Get On Your Boots off their uneven 2009 album No Line on the Horizon.
