Last month, Ian Neale from Newport earned a place in horticultural history by cultivating the 38.8kg (85.5lb) swede. Now Snoop Dogg want to know his secrets, to help grow his… umm… well crop.
Snoop did a shout out on youtube “Man, I want to tell you something, when I do my show in Cardiff, I want you to come backstage and see me because I do vegetation myself and I want to know your secret. So Ian Neale … come see your boy Snoop Dogg, I’ve got two tickets for you when I get to town. Ya dig?”
Mr Neale told Sky News Online: “I’ve never heard of him… I’m a country and western man myself.” The 68-year-old has been growing oversized vegetables for 30 years, and has previously produced a beetroot weighing 23.5kg (51.5lbs) and cucumber that grew to 107cm (42.12in).
Mr Neale said he had decided to take Snoop up on his offer after a woman who works with him told him off for not accepting the free tickets.
“She nearly wiped the floor with me… So we’re going to go along together,” he said.

Singer Guy Sebastian is the second Australian star in a week to learn the hard way that live television is a dangerous business.
The X Factor judge made an embarrassing gaffe while introducing one of the acts on the live talent show.
He began by explaining how he had met the all-girl act Mahogany he had been mentoring on the show.
“Well, I met these girls on a tour that I did a little while ago, and they blew me away then, and then they walked into the audition room and blew me again,” Sebastian said, before realising what he had just said.

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are both approaching a major milestone of the new music industry: one billion all-time YouTube views.
Lady Gaga should pass one billion views around October 20 if she continues on her current pace, according to David Birch, communications director at TubeMogul. During September, she averaged almost 1.8 million views per day.
Birch says Bieber will surpass the 1 billion views milestone around November 1 if he keeps up his current pace. During September, Bieber’s videos were viewed about 3.7 million times per day.
Even though Lady Gaga will be the first to the one billion mark, TubeMogul data shows that lately Bieber has been the hotter of the two and has been YouTube’s most-viewed music artist. From July 1 to September 28, according to TubeMogul data supplied to Billboard, Bieber averaged 3.98 million daily views to Lady Gaga’s 2.04 million views per day.
Bieber has been hot since winter. Since February 28, Bieber has averaged 3.83 million daily views while Lady Gaga has averaged 2.53 million.

In what is sure to be a professional first, singer Katy Perry’s breasts appear to have got in the way of a television career.
The US pop star has become the latest celebrity to film a segment for children’s show Sesame Street, re-recording her 2009 chart hit Hot ‘N Cold with new, child-friendly lyrics.
The two minute clip, which is yet to go to air and features Perry chasing around puppet favourite Elmo, was posted on YouTube on Monday and is already nudging 1 million views.
While Perry’s excruciatingly hammy acting has made her the butt of internet jokes all week, it seems millions of children will be spared her performance following complaints from parents over her “inappropriate” cleavage-baring outfit. – stuff.co.nz
